Finding the right therapist can be pretty difficult. Seriously, how in the world are you supposed to choose the person that is going to help you with what you are struggling with?

The fact that your instincts have you searching for somebody that you feel compelled to call or write is a good sign that you are on the right track. Finding somebody you feel comfortable with is the best way to begin. In fact, one of the most important aspects of effective therapy is the match between the client and therapist.

Many of my clients comment about how quickly they feel comfortable, or at ease when beginning therapy with me. I think that this is related to the fact that I refuse to treat the people I work with like “patients”, rather I simply have a conversation aimed at getting to know one another. Therapy that begins this way will help you determine if I am the best match for you, and how we will go about addressing your current struggles.
